Land Department to link with 2015 Plan
The plan was drawn up to align the real estate sector's future with the objectives of Dubai's 2015 Strategic Plan.
The priorities highlighted in the plan include creating an equitable real estate environment which preserves and protects rights and social justice and enforces clear, transparent laws and regulations.
Leadership, a high level of performance, respect for individuals, efficient teamwork, open-door communication policy and professionalism are the key values in the new strategy.
Sheikh Mohammad Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, President of the Land Department, said: "The department's operational model and procedures are rapidly gaining credence too as being among the very best and I would imagine few would or could have anticipated this outcome when the first handwritten title deeds were being drawn up in January and February of 1960."
"Registration is considered to be one of the key contributors to safeguarding the rights and protecting the investments of the many buyers of property in Dubai."
Sultan Bin Mejren, Director-General of the Land Department, said land transaction turnover in Dubai surged to billions of dirhams weekly.
"It was not merely the size of the market that changed. The Department has had to adapt to both a changed operational scale and a new commercial environment due to the changing scenario in the market."
